Dhiren Doshi-Smith, a queer British Indian therapist, smiling

FOR THE ONES WHO NEVER QUITE FITTED IN.

I’m Dhiren, a queer, British Indian counsellor with ADHD. I specialise in working with queer, POC and neurodivergent adults, and with anyone who’s burnt out from holding it all together. Everyone is welcome, online across the UK or in person in London and Essex.

The first call is free. Sessions after that are £80.

Which of these sounds like you?

I’ve been out for years and I still edit myself in rooms that should feel safe.

I’m living my own life and carrying my family’s expectations at the same time.

I mask all day and I’m wiped out by the evening.

I hold it together at work and fall apart at home.

None of them quite fit? Book the free call anyway and we’ll talk it through.

Dhiren Doshi-Smith, head and shoulders portrait

Hi, I'm Dhiren

I’m queer, British Indian and I have ADHD. I’m a person centred counsellor, registered with the BACP, and an ambassador for ADHD UK. With me, you won’t have to explain the basics, or edit yourself first.

Person centred means you set the pace and decide what we talk about. I listen, I ask questions, and I tell you honestly what I’m noticing. A lot of the people I see are holding down jobs and relationships and are exhausted by the effort of it.

How starting works

Free 15 minute call

Ask me anything and see if we get on. There’s no obligation to book.

Questions people ask before booking therapy

Am I “bad enough” for therapy?

You don’t need to be in crisis. Plenty of people come to me because they’re coping on the outside and running on empty.

Do I have to be queer, POC or neurodivergent?

No. That’s who I specialise in, and anyone is welcome.

Does online therapy work?

For lots of people, yes. You skip the travel and you’re in your own space.

Is it confidential?

Yes, within the limits of the BACP Ethical Framework. I’ll go through those limits with you in our first session.

A line or two is plenty. I reply within 48 hours to find a time that suits you, by phone or video.
